Know Your Clones
When it comes to growing your own medication, starting with quality medical grade marijuana clones is a must and A Soothing Seed has you covered.
Most, if not all dispensaries, and nurseries simply take in clones and resell them to the general growing community, and with that comes pests, molds, and disease, not to mention strain name swapping simply to get rid of unwanted marijuana plants.
Many of the online San Diego marijuana clone websites are run by third-party individuals who are simply acting as a middleman between you and the people that are actually harvesting and rooting your cannabis clones and plants.
A Soothing Seed cultivates its mother plants on-site from breeder seeds acquired by long time, reputable, seed banks, so we are able to garner all of the individual strains valuable information and our members will have a full understanding of exactly what they are cultivating right from the start.
Cannabis Seeds
Cannabis Seeds are also available to our community who choose to begin their grow the old-fashioned way.
We offer a variety of strains to choose from including Low THC and High CBD strains comparable to Charlotte’s Web. High CBD Rich Strains have shown to help sufferers from a rare form of epilepsy known as Dravet Syndrome, which causes severe seizures.
Most of our seeds are Feminized but we do offer Regular seeds and Auto Flower seeds at a lower cost for those more experienced and daring farmers.
Feminized seeds are specifically bred to be female which removes the need for entering the sexing process, therefor saving valuable time, resources, and plant waste.
Cultivation Service
We also offer a Germination Service. If you are not setup to properly germinate cannabis seeds, then we can help! We as your caregiver are set up with the proper heat mats and domes to not only hold the humidity at the perfect level but to keep the root zone nice and warm, giving us a usual 2-4 Day germination period.
Once the seeds have sprouted, we can hand over your brand-new babies ready for transplant into your garden or continue to cultivate until you are comfortable moving them into their new home.
This service is no longer available.
What our Members Have to Say
What are Cannabis Clones
Cannabis clones are clippings from a mother or donor plant that has been kept in the vegetative stage. These cuts share the same genetics as their mother plant, which is why they are considered “clones”.
Clones need to develop a root structure before they can be transplanted into a grow medium like soil, coco, or a preferred hydroponics system. To get a clone to root, a clipping is inserted into a rooting plug such as “Root Riot” cubes made from composted natural materials, or Grodan rockwool cubes after being dipped into a rooting gel, then cultivated under a propagation dome to retain humidity until the cutting begins to show roots.
Once the clones have rooted they can be transplanted and proper nutrient feeding can begin. Nutrient plant food should be carefully monitored so the feed is not too “HOT” as that can easily burn the delicate roots and kill the young plant.
Cannabis Sativa
Cannabis Sativa is a cannabis cultivar that produces longer, thinner fan leaves and can grow up to 12 feet tall and even up to 25 feet if allowed which can also make it challenging to grow in a home environment. Sativa was discovered about the middle of the 18th century by Swedish Botanist Carl Linnaeus.
Sativa plants tend to promote a more uplifting effect making it a favorite of the more esteemed consumers and can take longer to bring to harvest than its indica counterpart. This is due to its lower production of chlorophyll which also tends to require more light consumption.
To speed up the growth process and give the sativa plant a shorter stature, cross breeding has been introduced known as hybrids. Today many sativa plants have been crossed with indica strains to produce a more manageable plant providing the consumer the best of both worlds.
Cannabis Indica
Indica plants are the second type of cannabis plant and originally developed in colder, northern climates with a shorter, darker, denser structure and broader leaves than its sativa counterpart. Biologist Jean-Baptiste de Lamarck identified what he named the Cannabis Indica plant in the late 1700’s.
The effects of indica plants tend to lean toward the sedating or more relaxing side also known as “couch lock” and used in majority to induce sleep. The indica plants genes is heterogeneous and tend to offer a wider range of THC to CBD ratios, making it a popular strain for hashish production.
Indica plants will grow faster than the sativa versions and produce more flowers as well offer more variations in its genome, making it a perfect specimen for crossbreeding.
