If you are new to A Soothing Seed, we have some basic frequently asked questions that can help you get started understanding how we operate and what you can expect from an entity who got its start as a California Non-Profit Mutual Benefit Corporation doing business under California State Bill SB420 in 2008.
Below is just a small sample of what we know might be a large list of questions you have for us, and we will continue to update this page as new questions come forward with the ever-changing laws in the state of California.
What are cannabis clones?
Cannabis clones are cuttings taken from a mature female cannabis plant (the “mother”) that are rooted and grown into genetically identical plants. Clones allow growers to skip the seed germination process and ensure consistent genetics.
Why should I grow from clones instead of seeds?
Clones offer several advantages: they are guaranteed female (no risk of males), have known genetics, mature faster than seeds, and allow for consistent results. They’re ideal for both new and experienced growers who want predictable outcomes.
Are your clones pest- and disease-free?
Yes. We take plant health seriously. All our clones are grown in a controlled, sterile environment and are regularly inspected for pests, mold, and disease. We use IPM (Integrated Pest Management) practices to ensure our customers receive healthy, vigorous plants.
Do I have to live in California in order to get clones?
YES, you must be a California resident and have a valid California ID and or Medical Marijuana Recommendation in order to get clones and seeds from A Soothing Seeds Garden.
Do I need a license to buy clones?
That depends on your local laws. In California, for example, adults 21 and over can purchase clones for personal use under state law. Commercial growers may need additional licensing. Please check your state and local regulations before placing an order.
Is there a Minimum Clone Order?
NO! We do not have a minimum clone order at this time as long as you are picking them up, and we will continue to ensure clones will be available to you whether you want 6, or just 1 if that’s all you require.
Where Do You Get Your Cannabis Seeds?
Our seeds are acquired from reputable seedbanks and the breeders themselves in order to maintain our commitment of providing quality, verifiable strains to our patients.
How do our Marijuana Laws in California Work?
Great question and before you do anything further, be sure to educate yourself on our Laws and Regulations regarding Medical Cannabis.

How do you ship or deliver the clones?
We offer local delivery and pick-up options in select areas. Due to federal regulations, we do not ship clones across state lines. Reach out to us directly to check availability in your area and coordinate delivery or pick-up times.
I Have Never Grown Before, Should I Pick Up Some Clones and Get Started?
NO! The first thing you should do is make sure that you are set up and ready to accept new clones into their new home.
Be sure you have done your research as a Noob, and understand what you are growing.
Do a test run on your garden and make sure the lights are working, the air is flowing, and the temperatures are being maintained, as well as all other environmental requirements are being met.
Then and only then will it be time to give us a call and adopt your new clones. If you are unsure of how to begin, you can contact us for a grow consultation.
Why Are Your Seeds So Expensive?
Our seeds are brought in directly from the Breeders and Seed Banks so we can provide nothing but the Highest Quality, best Verifiable, FEMINIZED, Genetics and Strains, and with that comes a cost that includes shipping, taxes, time and conversion fee’s.
A quality Feminized Seed in the hands of a seasoned grower could easily yield months’ worth of medication, and if that same grower were to clone their plant, that initial seed investment would easily yield years’ worth of clean, consistent, quality medical cannabis for that patient.
How should I care for my clones after I receive them?
After receiving your clones, place them in a stable environment with proper lighting, humidity, and airflow. Keep them in a vegetative state until they’re well-established before transplanting.
What strains do you offer?
Our strain list is always evolving based on availability and demand. We typically carry popular strains like Blue Gelato, Gorilla Glue, Blue Dream, Pineapple Express, and more—both indica and sativa dominant. Check our live inventory page or contact us for current availability.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
Yes, our clones cost $15.00 each, but when you purchase 10 or more, the price drops to $10.00 per clone. We do not have wholesale clients or pricing at this time.
Do You Offer Grow Support?
YES! feel free to contact us with any questions that might arise as your grow progresses to harvest.
